DC plz. Was rumored to be a TFC target about a month ago, I wonder if this means a Defoe move is imminent?

ETA:

Los Angeles Galaxy, DC United and Club Deportivo Chivas USA are potential destinations. Seattle Sounders and Chicago Fire also likely to express interest. The four-times African player of the year had been heavily linked with FC Toronto, coached by the former Blackburn and Queens Park Rangers defender Ryan Nelsen, but is thought to favour a move to the US rather than Canada.

Ok so it seems like a lot of places are potential destinations. I'll add another one... the Champions. We usually don't sign older players as DPs but frick it would be cool to see him in Chelsea blue one year and Sporting blue the next.

If he goes to the Galaxy or the Sounders the whole process of foreign stars coming to the MLS just seems shady. It's like the MLS only cares about LA, New York, or Seattle which might be the case anyway.

MLS has the best parity of probably any domestic league outside of the EPL of this year.

Besides they need to pump money into the big market teams to grow the product. Their business model is spot on if you ask me.

Its best if these big name foreign players go to big, world renowned cities because it increases foreign exposure and interest.

Shady, but probably a good strategy from the leagues perspective.

I don't think there's anything shady. It's just that foreign players want to play in the big cities they've actually heard of.

I'm a Crew fan. That doesn't change the fact that guys like Eto'o, Beckham, etc. have probably never heard of Columbus, much less have any intention of moving here.
