12 gauge firing pin issue - gun experts needed

I have an inherited savage 12 gauge a few years ago. It has an issue where it doesn't shoot every shell. Sometimes it just dents the primer. This seems extremely dangerous so I don't really want to use it until I have it fixed. If anyone can answer any of these questions, I'd really appreciate it. The gun is clean, just to rule out any "have you tried cleaning it"
Is this strictly a firing pin issue? Can the firing pin mechanism just be replaced and if so is it something I could do or would I need to bring it somewhere if I don't know a lot about gun repair?
Or would a qualified person have to further investigate to properly diagnose?
Any idea how much something like this might cost?
Where is the best place for parts? Repairs on the Northshore?

Weak spring maybe? Just denting some of the primers. are you using old shells?

Yeah I meant primers not firing pin.

First off what model?
Crack barrels are know for this problem in those old guns. Only fix is changing out the spring

775a semi auto. It's the one that's an A5 clone from what I'm seeing.

It's most likely a dull firing pin or more likely a weak hammer spring. It should be an easy swap.

I've got the same issue with a Sears brand Mossberg from the early 80s. It will shoot half of the time, and just click and not fire the other half
