Tracking the former LSU Tigers in the NFL: Week 4

LINKA weekly team-by-team update on how former LSU Tigers are doing in the NFL.

ARIZONA CARDINALS:

The Cardinals defeated the Buccaneers 13-10. Patrick Peterson started at cornerback and intercepted a pair of passes to seal the victory. He also recorded two tackles, two pass deflections and returned one punt for five yards. Tyrann Mathieu started at defensive back and had six tackles including one for a loss. Kevin Minter is on the roster but was inactive for the game and Curtis Taylor is on the practice squad.

BALTIMORE RAVENS:

The Ravens lost to the Bills 23-20. Marcus Spears recorded three tackles.

BUFFALO BILLS:

The Bills defeated the Ravens 23-20. Kyle Williams started at defensive tackle and recorded two quarterback hurries. Ron Brooks was inactive for the game with a foot injury.

CAROLINA PANTHERS:

The Panthers had a bye week. Brandon LaFell is on the roster.

CHICAGO BEARS:

The Bears lost to the Lions 40-32. Craig Steltz played but accumulated no stats. Michael Ford recorded a fumble recovery.

CINCINATI BENGALS:

The Bengals lost to the Browns 17-6. Andrew Whitworth started at left tackle. The Bengals rushed for 63 yards and quarterback Andy Dalton was sacked twice.

CLEVELAND BROWNS:

The Browns defeated the Bengals 17-6. Barkevious Mingo started at linebacker and recorded his third sack in as many games. He also recorded four tackles, two for loss, and a quarterback hurry. Chris Faulk remains on the physically unable to perform list.

DALLAS COWBOYS:

The Cowboys lost to the Chargers 30-21. Morris Claiborne started at cornerback and recorded seven tackles. Drake Nevis recorded a tackle. Danny McCray played but accumulated no stats.

DENVER BRONCOS:

The Broncos defeated the Eagles 52-20. Trindon Holliday returned a kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown to give the Broncos a 14-3 lead in the first quarter. He also returned two punts for zero yards.

HOUSTON TEXANS:

The Texans lost to the Seahawks 23-20 in overtime. Sam Montgomery was inactive.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS:

The Colts defeated the Jaguars 37-3. Kelvin Sheppard played but accumulated no stats. LaRon Landry was inactive due to an ankle injury. Ricky Jean-Francois missed the game due to a groin injury.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS:

The Chiefs defeated the Giants 31-7. Dwayne Bowe started at wide receiver and caught four passes for 58 yards, including 34-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Tyson Jackson started at defensive end and recorded three tackles.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS:

The Patriots defeated the Falcons 30-23. Stevan Ridley rushed 11 times for 53 yards and caught two passes for 26 yards.

NEW YORK GIANTS:

The Giants lost to the Chiefs 31-7. Reuben Randle caught one pass for seven yards and returned four punts for 35 yards. Corey Webster missed the game due to a hip injury.

OAKLAND RAIDERS:

The Raiders lost to the Redskins 24-14. Quarterback Matt Flynn made his first start of the season in place of the injured Terrelle Pryor. Flynn finished the game 21-for-32 for 227 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed three times for four yards.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES:

The Eagles lost to the Broncos 52-20. Donnie Jones punted four times with an average of 47.8 yards per punt, including a long of 54 yards. Bennie Logan recorded one tackle.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS:

The Steelers lost to the Vikings 34-27. Ryan Clark started at safety and recorded six tackles. Al Woods recorded one tackle.

ST. LOUIS RAMS:

The Rams lost to the 49ers 35-11. Joe Barksdale started on the offensive line. The Rams rushed for 18 yards and quarterback Sam Bradford was sacked five times. Michael Brockers started at defensive tackle and recorded two tackles, half of a sack and two quarterback hurries.

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS:

The Chargers defeated the Cowboys 30-21. Brandon Taylor was inactive.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS:

The 49ers defeated the Rams 35-11. Glenn Dorsey recorded four tackles, one for a loss, one sack and one quarterback hurry. Eric Reid recorded two special teams tackles.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS:

The Seahawks defeated the Texans 23-20 in overtime. Spencer Ware was inactive. Tharold Simon remains on the physically unable to perform list.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS:

The Buccaneers lost to the Cardinals 13-10. Russell Shepard played but accumulated no stats. Jacob Cutrera remains on injured reserve.

TENNESSEE TITANS:

The Titans defeated the Jets 38-13. Lavar Edwards was inactive for the game.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS:

The Redskins defeated the Raiders 24-14. Perry Riley started at linebacker and recorded nine tackles and one quarterback hurry.

I do not say this lightly, but thank you for putting that together.

I don't follow the NFL as closely as college.

I see the numbers of LSU players in the pros, but to see their names with their teams puts things into perspective.

Corey Webster? That seems like 20 years ago.

It's good to see RS10 earning a paycheck.

Flynn, Peterson, Mingo, Mathieu, & Trindon all had spectacular days.

I hope you keep doing this weekly.

I love seeing Mingo and Reid doing well. Both are real defensive ROY candidates.

I see that Maurice Claiborne got benched. LINK You have to love when a team gives up several draft picks to go get a shutdown man2man corner. And, then they switch their entire defensive philosophy to zone and blame the young CB. I hope that Claiborne can move some where that better suits his skills.
