My dad is buying me one. What all do I need and where do I go to get it. I can't just go to walmarks and get it right? Tia

Right. Download the form from the Wildlife and Fisheries website. You'll have to fill that out and mail it in or drop it off at their office off of Quail Drive in Baton Rouge.
It'll take a little while to come in, but they'll give you a temporary one if you drop it off in person.

If you duck hunt, you still need to buy federal stamp and get HIP certificate before season

I just got mine. Went to the office in baton rouge with the forms and gave the woman a check.
Got temporary license and permanent in less than a week. Easiest govt process ive ever done
