it wasn't a late slide.. it was clearly a bad hit and would be in any hypothetical review of the rule.
that being said, it was a rookie "mistake" that definitely altered Ryan's play for the rest of the game.

I've often wondered, when you've already committed and are in the air, how you can Superman your way to avoid a hit like that.
I have no issue with KV getting the penalty, it is what it is. But it wasn't dirty, even the replay showed he had already committed before Ryan decided to slide.

frick Peter King, and when SI sends him to do a story on the 10-0 saints, I hope CSP tells them to send somebody else or there will be no access.

This. After he went all in on the Bountygate bullshite, the only time I've clicked on a MMQB link is when Gleason wrote the guest column.

I don't think anyone was mad at him for that. If had been a stupid play, maybe, but it was very close to being a legal hit and just looked beautiful on tv. I commented in the game thread that I couldn't wait to watch that gif over and over, but I haven't seen one yet.

Agreed. I think KV did a good job of leading with the shoulder and aiming for Ryan's stomach/chest instead of head for the hit. Late, yes, but dirty? No.
Good hard hit that set a tone for our D for the rest of the game IMO
