I've tried to stay away from here since the CamRob announcement. I have failed, to my disquietude and yours as well I am certain.

In addressing the recruiting experts on here, by reading the threads, it appears that many fear that LSU misses out of Fournette, Speedy, Willis and Hootie.

What is the likelihood ALL of them decide to go elsewhere and what would that mean for LSU moving forward in recruiting its own state? (Note: The 1990s are still a part of my memory in which most of the high-end talent decided to go to FSU, Miami, etc. every year)

Since mgt. won't cull these Negatigers, the only option is for the 'tards refuse to take their bait...good luck with that!

I'll try to answer your OP with my opinion. Before Frank Wilson got here, we were complacent on the recruiting trail in state. It was a result of an arrogance that assumed all LA kids want to come to LSU, so we took our time in offering. This has greatly improved and Frank Wilson has done a wonderful job. The only criticism I've heard is that we go long periods without contacting recruits. That's why we hear from recruits who leave that LSU didn't show that they wanted me enough, IMO. Our biggest competition is relentless and it appears we don't match that at times. If this is indeed the case it needs to be corrected NOW. If we were to lose the ones you mentioned, it would hurt for years, not just in the loss of potential talent, but just as importantly, in perception to future recruits. I don't think it happens, but our staff has to leave nothing to chance.
Just my two cents.

Winning cures everything man. The team we currently have is scary good. Watch what happens when we're going to national title. A lot of these kid's are suddenly gonna have "state" pride.

it could happen but most "experts" here think not.

it obviously would not help but unless we lose 4-5 games this year or the Miles/OSU bullshite gains traction we will still get 9-11 of the top15 in state talent.

the flip side of having so much bigtime talent is the fact that everyone knows it and sometimes bigtime talent, like rich people....just think differently.

not an expert...JMO.

"disquietude"...nice.

get better, get ready...get even.

Living in the past, will keep you from seeing the present!!!

Is there a possibility that we lose one or maybe two of those 4 recruits, obviously anything is possible regarding recruiting. But what is the likelihood, pretty freaking remote. Of those 4 the only one I truly worry about is Jones only because we are not only working against Bama and it's coaches but also his 2 good friends "let's just call them dumb and dumber" trying to persuade him to join them at Bama. The other 3 not choosing LSU in the end, would be mind boggling to say the least.

That is basically what GWIII was saying in his comments to a reporter the other day published on 247. He just wasn't feeling the love. People think he was just trolling, but that might not be the case. It is definitely a concern, I hope the coaches read it and were listening.

Like I said in an earlier post whether it is true or not is kind of irrelevant, if a recruit that we want as bad as GWIII is stating that then we need to address it so that he doesn't make those kind of statements to the press in the future. Whether true or not, that being published doesn't help and gives other recruiters more ammunition to shoot at LSU.

I have the utmost faith in Wilson, so I don't think there is more than a 2% chance. Wilson is not overlooking any of these high profile recruits. it may be though that he puts in more time with the parents believing that is the way to get the kids signature. kind of a contradiction in that willis' mom is the one out front saying don't believe all this crap the coaches feed you and GWIII is saying (probably trolling) I want to hear more bs from the coaches.

Fournette is supposedly the biggest LSU lean USC was the other threat( albeit still more marginal) but we all can see how green the grass looks there currently.

Gwiii and noil will likely attend the same college and its LSU/a&m, but 504 has claimed they will both wind up at LSU.

Dupre is thought to be a big LSU lean, and the lack of noise on offers to new recruits tends to show that Wilson and staff are fairly confident in most of the remaining targets.

Also, things are looking pretty solid for Clifton garret and tony brown. There are just more high profile recruits this cycle, so we will have a more exciting January and February.

The biggest concern is hootie.

If we lose c rob and no one else, that would still be an amazing class. If we lose on hootie, still a really good class

iPad changed it. Fixed it just it just in time. The kids made it out of Jurassic park, Bruce Willis destroyed the asteroid, Helen hunt studied the tornado, and will smith helped bring down the space aliens. All is well
