I've wanted this feature for quite some time but I didn't expect it anytime soon considering their app was not very advanced.

I noticed recently when i updated though that low and behold, there it is, and it works pretty well.

Photo of both sides of the check and it will be deposited within a day or two.

I only get checks for random refunds, etc, and i never find time to go to the bank. This will make my trips even rarer.

with the ability to do this and other smartphone conveniences result in a reduction of bank locations (and tellers)? Needing to deposit a check is the reason I go to the bank 10 or so times a year. Without needing to do that, I might go once a year.

CFCU should be pretty close behind, then.

PenFed?

The tech has been around for 3+ years now, but the major banks were the first to catch on. Neighbors, LaCap, and CFCU are the big 3 competitors in the CU space in Baton Rouge.

CFCU has had "deposit from home" for about 4-5 years so the mobile deposit will likely take its place.

Schwab's app has had this feature for some time now. I haven't set foot into a B&M facility in years.
