Find a place with bitter melon and report back to me

No I have the attitude that I'll try just about anything

Tried bitter melon at a restaurant here in town against the advice of the server and I felt stupid. It's terrible.

Sun dried tomatoes are good in maybe 1 or 2 dishes on the entire planet.

It's one of those trendy ingredients that has no real value in cooking

The wife uses them occasionally out of respect to my taste. I only like them on a very few things. To me they have a bitter taste I do not think adds much to the flavor profile of the dish. The dishes I like them best in have pasta.

I'm a "try anything once" kinda guy. There's not much that I've had that I find completely inedible or gag worthy. In fact, I think cottage chese was the only one

That is the opinion of your obviously unrefined palate. I make my my own and store in olive oil - use the oil in several dishes as well as the tasty tomatoes.

Osso Buco is a good choice, imo. Risitto. And an interesting salad with different ingredients.

Can't go wrong.

ETA: And I didn't realize she was a bit too old for your romantic tastes.

I was planning on doing Osso Bucco, went to the store and they were out of veal shanks. I improvised and braised some lamb shanks. Came out great. She enjoyed it.
