He is actually in the record books for being the first rookie RB to have a 1000 yard season without starting a single game. In the Super Bowl he had 10 receptions which was the most by any RB ever and one shy of the overall player record finishing with 143 total yards..

I'd like to see the Broncos give him an opportunity to reunite with Peyton Manning. When not on the IR, Addai is a much more reliable back than Knowshon Moreno.

I'll say this for Addai: having worked as a bartender at a fairly popular bar back in my LSU days, I saw many, many big name players come in and party ALL THE TIME....I only saw Joe once. He came in in his LSU sweat suit, ordered a water, stayed 10 minutes and then left. Dude was all business and wanted to play in the leauge. Good job Joe.

The only thing that scared me a little bit was seeing an article a few years ago detailing all the "Bling" that Joe bought when he was a rookie. He really did go on a spending spree of crap.

Addai has his degree from LSU and made about $15 million in the NFL. If he is not a moron, he should be more or less set for life.

Yeah Joe Addai was much better because of a Manning, make sure you go to their place in NO buy things. Mannings love LSU fans...

Joe probably has played his last down in the NFL

On another Indy note, did anyone notice the LSU crew wrecking damage on the Giants last night? Kelvin, Nevis and RJF all got love from the fox crew for wrecking damage on Manning & co

The average NFL career is like less than 4 years??

Average NFL RB career is 2 years.

This is a qb league. Rbs are a dime of dozen if you have a qb.

We never got to see addais full potential, dont think he made it through a whole season without picking up and injury. Kind of reminded me of duece mccallisters career at Ole Miss. Stud potential, but often injured.

Hope he was smart with his money and has some solid post-football plans

i'm pretty sure addai is.

wasn't there a story on him driving a pretty average car and being asked about it and his answer was something like he was saving for the future.

i also think i heard a third hand story about him doing the right things with his money.

i know i know.....SOURCES!!!!!

This - the Mannings don't like LSU going back to Archie's Ole Miss days and all of his sons snubbing LSU for out-of-state schools. LSU fans should have nothing to do with the Mannings.

Soooooo what some of the ranters are asserting here, is that Peyton Manning, who was practically his own offensive coordinator in Indy, had no hand whatsoever in the Colts decision to draft Addai with their first round pick that year?

"Naw guys, don't take Addai, he went to LSU, and I'm a Vol, and my daddy and brother were rebels, so don't take this cat."

That's prolly how it went down

He had no hand in that decision either way.

Surrrre he didnt. Not at ANY point in the whole process do you think he was consulted???

Anyway, this thread aint bout the Mannings. Peyton was just brought up because I'm sure he was a good influence on and off the field for his young RB.

Adios.

That story about him and his best friend getting paralyzed made Joe one of my favorite athletes of all time.

He lived in handicap dorms at LSU with him and still to this day takes care of his friend.

For whatever reason, Joe was a RB that took a lot of hard hits. The great ones that last don't take too many solid hits. Emmitt Smith would seldom get hit with more than a glancing blow. Addai got hammered at the end of many plays. He did not seem to have the innate ability to see hits coming and more to reduce the impact. I think this is why his career ended so quickly.

I always enjoyed watching him play.

Joe Addai was a success in life before he ever made it to the NFL:
