Stein knows what he's talking about... Oden is and was all Heat. The uni revealing was the icing on the cake for them

Its pretty obvious he waited until today to choose as to not detract from our uniform unveiling. Also so he could have a uni at his presser.

Huh? Where do you get your ideas or opinions? They were 14 games better than us last year and didn't lose anything. Brand, Kaman and Colison replaced by Calderon, Ellis and Dalembert (maybe with Oden) makes them worse?. They have a super rich owner that spoils their players. A HOF player that will help bring him along, totally no pressure. The roster is short term and they are going flip everything next summer, so no high expectations. Its a great situation. You think they are going down to 25 wins or worse? It's either that or you are projecting the Pelicans with about 50 wins. No team with a healthy Dirk is really bad team..
You forgot about their 2nd leading scorer who played 82 games - Mayo.

Unis were the final straw. He's taking his talents to South Beach.

Sources told ESPN.com that Oden, after showing off his skills for several teams over the past few weeks, has not yet ruled out any of the six teams chasing him but is most likely to select his destination from the trio of Miami, San Antonio and Dallas.

This report doesn't add up. First, Dallas does not fit in that group. At best they're a playoff also ran, but I think they miss the playoffs again this season. Secondly, his agents have waged a non stop propaganda campaign for over a month against Miami and they're finally ready to stop just before the break point arrives? Was the source for this report Mark Cuban?

Ahh good point.. I think that going from Mayo to Ellis is a wash. Colison to Calderon (plus Larkin) an upgrade. Kaman to Dalembert a downgrade. I just don't see where they would take a big nosedive. Seems like all of their moves just left them where they were before (around .500)..

Their defense will be awful. Marion is the only + defender. The Pelicans new backcourt will eat Calderon, Ellis, and Carter alive.

They will score though. They are worse talent wise than last year, but will have Dirk for a full season so they end up with about the same record.

To that point, this is why I am really worried about the Pelicans record and making the playoffs. Our division is the hardest division in all of sports IMO (maybe with exception of MLB AL East)

Would anyone be surprised if the top 3 teams in the west were some combination of Spurs/Memphis/Houston. I don't think that is likely, but I would certainly not be surprised. I think all of those teams are in the Top 5 with OKC and LAC.

Dallas still won 41 games last year, and they seem to be just about as good/bad on paper for this year. Just doesn't seem like we are going to get a ton of ind-vision wins which, will certainly hurt us.

It has been 505 days since Greg Oden was last on an NBA roster, and 1,336 days since he last appeared in an NBA game. On December 5, 2009 – three years and eight months ago – Oden fractured his left knee cap four minutes into a game against the Houston Rockets and left the arena on a stretcher.

Just some perspective. If he does chose another team there's no reason to have a meltdown, this was always a lottery ticket type of situation, and we're talking scratch off, not Powerball.

I just don't see the appeal in Dallas for Oden.

I heard this on SportsCenter this morning.

ESPN is sooooo damn predictable. Having us involved just isn't a story for them.

Yeah, if he signs with Miami, it will be touted as a great low risk move for the Heat. If he were to sign with us, it will be talked about as another risky move by an organization desperate to win now because of an old owner.
