I stated my reasons.

and something weird is going on with Rice too

ESPN Seattle's Liz Mathews reports Sidney Rice is in Switzerland "getting some sort of knee treatment."

we'd consider Rice questionable for Week 1 at the moment.

Never good to hear, but this evens out the Crabtree injury. The NFC west will be the most brutal division in football this year.

49ers Super Bowl chances depend on a below average and injured WR group playing over their ratings.

Has anyone reported how this injury took place?

I'm sure I have missed it, but every article or news segment picks this story up from him just being injured all of the sudden without a story as to how it happened.

Was he hurt pre-trade and this was the gamble the hawks took or did this happen in camp? Can't find anything.

He got hurt in June I THINK. Maybe a Seahawks die hard can confirm this.

But John Clayton said he could be back with 4-5 weeks left in the season.

I wouldn't rule him out just yet.

Per a league source, Harvin’s injury happened during offseason workouts. Though it’s not precisely clear when it happened, there was one specific day, we’re told, on which Harvin didn’t feel right.

Regardless on when it specifically happened during the offseason, there’s no way Harvin slipped a torn labrum through Seattle’s five hole. With the significant draft pick compensation and six-year, $67 million contract and $12 million signing bonus necessary to secure his services, the Seahawks did far more than the typical quick-poke-and-prod before trading for Harvin. When acquired, he was 100 percent.

talking about the niners making it to three nfc championship games

No we're not. We're talking about the niners making it to one championship game. The previous two have no bearing on this outcome. To believe otherwise is gamblers fallacy.

I've read that he got hurt in April sometime. Not sure if it just got worse or what, but there aren't too many details yet.

Also, it sounds like he's expected to return anywhere between week 7 and week 13 depending on how things go. It's a 10-16 week recovery and we're still 5 weeks away from the season starting.

How many teams have made it to 3 straight conference championships? Dallas in the 60s, Oakland in the 70s, SF and BUF in the early 90s comes to mind. It's a much more level playing field now.. I consider 2 straight appearances in the NFC championship incredible in this era. Making 3 is, and will be incredibly difficult. It's hard to maintain that kind of success. I also feel that Kaepernick will not be as good as people think.

This is a forum to post our opinions. My opinion is that SF will not make it to the NFC Championship for the third straight year, and history also says its not likely. Simple as that.

Making it in back to back seasons is impressive. What they did was incredible, especially with Sanchez at quarterback.

I mean, let's act like its so easy for teams to do this. It happens all the time... SF is a shoe in for the title game...

false
Atlanta's o-line has a ll kinds of questions and you forget their defense isn't all that great. they lost dunta robinson and brent grimes who were both very good for them. they'll be relying on two rookies to contribute heavily in the defensive backfield.
I think the Osi signing goes just about as well as their "crown jewel" Ray Edwards did

it is not that simple. ATL does have a nice offense but their D has questions.

and SF averaged giving up 29 points per game in their last six games, including the playoffs. I guess part of that had to do with the temporary loss of Justin Smith.

I don't buy anyone as an easy favorite anymore. Because lately, it is hard not to notice that the middle-to-lower seeded teams have won it all.
