Ingram was No. 26 with 298 yards coming after contact. But Ingram’s percentage of yards after contact (49.8) ranked No. 6 in the league. Teammate Pierre Thomas was No. 5 at 50.1 percent and ranked No. 31 with 237 yards after contact.

Similar to PFF ranking PT23 as the number three overall back the past 5 seasons. This might be one of the greatest RBs by committee groups ever assembled. (So good that a 5.1 ypc RB had to be traded for a 4th Rd draft pick. Would Ivory having 1000yds in NYJ surprise anyone?). It is so "committee" that I dunno if we will see Ingram hit numbers that we associate with a 1st Rd selection (shades of Reggie). Payton has expressed emphasizing the run game to higher level. This bodes well for the wins outlook as the team rushing yards correspond closely to the quality of the season-

YR--Wins--Rush Rank--Yds Rushing
2006 10 19th 1762
2007 07 28th 1466
2008 08 28th 1594
2009 13 06th 2106
2010 11 28th 1519
2011 13 06th 2127
2012 07 25th 1577

No way we rush for under 2k yds this year. CSP has said it many times, that the running game will be the focal point this year.

Blues, thanks for bringing something new to the discussion. But as we will soon see, no good deed goes unpunished.

Yes. Because he always gets hurt.

I'm rooting for him though.

except on November 3rd.

Big if but if Ivory stays healthy all season he will without a doubt have over 1000 yards IMO

So because Ingram is such a terrible runner and gets so few yards without contact, it conveniently boosts his "%of yards gained after contact" to #6 in the league to lead us to believe he's some sort of good running back. Okay. Woopty fricking dooo... i'm not buying that horse shite.

I was thinking the same thing. If you get stopped for a loss or no gain as much as he does, it doesn't take much for your YAC to be a high %. shite, 5 1 yard carries and 1 broken tackle for a 5 yard gain and there you go

CSP is gonna use MI right this year, no arguing that. Give him more zone stuff, don't just slam him inside, sub him out, sub him in, slam him inside, and repeat. Mix it up. I'm not even saying throw it to him, I'm saying give him more chances to use that vision, and don't juggle the RBs on and off the field. Let them go full drives at a time.
