I highly recommend Sonoma Cty. We stayed in Bodega Bay in May. Its kinda out a bit from most things, but only about a 20min ride inland to most things. If you want wine tours to come to Sonoma it is a little more pricey though... It will be in the $500 range for about a 6hr tour. If you and the ol lady are into Pinot Noir and Whites then this is for you. Its way more laid back than Napa, lots of mom and pops. Also, some of the better breweries are there. Russian River and Lagunitas. Russian River Valley is the place for Pinot Noir in Cali. Lots of great food! We stayed at the bodega bay lodge and it was quiet, the service there was as great. They take care of you. Restaurants in bodega are great, one is micehlin star rated and the the duck club is highly rated as well.
