Metta World Peace has reached an agreement in principle on a two-year deal with the New York Knicks, league source tells Y! Sports.

Amare
Carmelo
World Peace
JR Smith
Tyson Chandler.

The East should be pretty interesting next season.

Right now I'd rank it:

1) Miami
2) Chicago
3) Indiana
4) Brooklyn
5) NY Knicks
6) Washington
7) Atlanta
8) Detroit

Don't think so. Detroit will be in the playoffs, but ATL did some really nice work in FA.

Still think Washington will break through this year and is an up and coming East power in the next few years.

The idea of playing in China lasted a long time.

Good luck to him though.

Won't be the starting five. Gotta think MWP or JR will be coming off the bench. That 5 doesn't include a PG'

ETA: Raymond Felton starting PG.

I didn't realize the East is that bad if Washington and the Hawks are in your playoff projection

That won't be the starting 5 but the Knicks have a pretty decent squad

Felton
Shumpert
Melo
Bargnani
Chandler

JR smith
Mwp
Amare
Hardaway Jr

ETA: Melo is still the only star on the team, though. 5th seed

god i hate felton, I think Tim Hardaway Jr is gonna be a very good scorer. The knicks are like 9 deep with good players if Amare is healthy they are definitely a problem to contend with.

I think it seems like a bit of a stretch for the Knicks but he definitely makes that team a better defensive team which is exactly what they need.

Defensively I like the move, but I'm a little hesitant because WP is so unpredictable. I guess time will tell...

I'm most happy about the Knicks holding onto Pablo Prigioni than any other move they have made--even resigning JR. Prigioni is such an underrated contributor for the Knicks.

I don't think that's their starting 5 either

I'd bet on this line up

Felton
Shumpert
Artest
Melo
Chandler

with the bench of

Pablo
Smith
Bags
Stat
K-Mart (if they bring him back)

basically a defensive oriented starting 5, and a big/stretch all offense bench, with K-Mart protecting the rim.
