My opinion of milk stouts is that they don't deliver enough ABV. I'm of the feeling that a big, hearty beer needs to deliver more alcohol to make it worth the extra space it take up.

Milk stouts aren't necessarily big hearty beers, which is nice sometimes

I used to absolutely love Mackeson XXX Stout, which was a milk stout. But it's not available here anymore.
