Buy low on Justin Upton?

Do yall think it is time to buy low now or wait another week or two? He has experienced a crazy power outage since the beginning of the season but is still managing to get on base at a decent clip. However, IMO it will be extremely difficult for him to contribute consistently in the RBI department even if he starts raking because of the Bravos retarded strikeout rates.
In the past he has been known to go on hot streaks like he did to start the season (not to that extent) so I am leaning towards buying low right now especially if your league uses OBP and TB.
What say you?

Excluding this April, he's been sucking for the better part of two years now. I wouldn't extend too much for him. If the owner gives you a bargain bin price it may be worth pursuing, but there is an ever-increasing track record that doesn't look good with him. The plus side is it looks like it's mental with him. The down side is there's no indication that he'll grow up and make adjustments/accept coaching.

Personally I am thinking of offering a starting pitcher who is almost certain to regress in the second half such as Jeff Locke or Travis Wood. I am almost certain that I will get countered and then I would probably throw in an average positional player with multiple eligibility like a Martin Prado, Michael Young, or Anthony Rendon.
I agree 100%, especially with how high both him and BJ are ranked every year in the preseason by the fantasy "experts". My hope is that his owners are going to become impatient and jump ship the first chance they get.

Oh he would definitely be my last choice the guys listed that I would offer to give up. I would probably still do it tho simply because I also have Gyorko, who is slated to come back at some point this week.

It's not that Jupton is a bad player, but he isn't worth the 1st round grade that he carries. Id deal Wood or Locke in a heartbeat for him, though and I'd probably throw one of the three hitters in too. If it's a keeper id be reluctant to deal Rendon.

You're getting more runs and steals with "A" and more power numbers with "B," but in general, they've been about the same value-wise this year. I had already planned to talk about Player B, Raul Ibanez (available in 63 percent of leagues) but @bearitto on Twitter suggested I compare him to Player A, the started-red-hot-and-has-since-cooled-off Justin Upton. Ibanez has never been a big runs scored guy and I expect the power to cool off at some point, but still. He needs to be owned in all leagues for the time being.
