Have no idea how they went unrecognized to me for so long being that I'm a HUGE Deltron 3030 fan (the sequel is expected out sometime in the actual year 3030). Very diverse albums. You can go from typical hip-hop to one of the greatest cruising in the rain with a cigarette songs ever:

ETA: And yes, I'm comfortable with my sexuality, but I'm worried about someone using my computer and having google auto-fill a search that starts with "ha" with "handsome boy modeling school"

I've been a fan of theirs for a long time now. Anyone who got their inspiration from one of the greatest shows of all time has to be good. LINK The music's not bad either.

(Brian Doyle?) Murphy, Chris Elliot are two greats, and I didn't even chuckle at that skit. What show is that?

I still have no idea who is who with all of these people, but isn't he the one that does most of the rapping on Deltron 3030 (possibly my favorite hip hop album of all time)?

Get a Life. They did an episode where Chris decides to be a model and goes to the Handsome Boy Modeling School. You'll hear a bunch of samples of dialogue from this episode in their music. The show's got a weird sense of humor and isn't for everyone but I think its great.

Look at This Face video someone did of this song with the scenes from get a Life it samples

He's the producer

Handsome boy is pretty much his project with Delton and Prince Paul

Deltron just raps on a track or two really

He does all the beats on Delton 3030 too, and Dr Octagon and the first Gorillaz album

He's one of best hip hop/downtempo producers out there IMO

Ah, the TV show. I've heard of it (I remember my father loving it back in the day). Looking up the show's info:

quote:

Notable writers of the series included Charlie Kaufman, screenwriter of Being John Malkovich; and Bob Odenkirk, co-creator of Mr. Show with Bob and David and Tenacious D.

I'm semi-erect just reading about it.

You seem to know a shitload more about good hip-hop than you do about the Pelicans. Any recommendations for similar stuff? I've had Pandora for a while and just today added a "Roots" station, which is how the band came up. Saw it had the same names associated with it as Deltron 3030. Already familiar with Gorillaz.

Try some Dr Octagon/MF Doom/Kool Kieth. They're all the same guy, similar beats as HBMS. LINK

Pillowfight is where it's at. Dan isn't infallible, though. His work with dredg is absolutely forgettable, which is good, because it tarnishes their entire catalog.

Get Down

He posts a ton of stuff on Soundcloud under the Bulk Recordings account
