NBA 2k13: What is the difference between Skill Points and VC?

Having internet issues so it won't let me connect. Is there a difference between Skill Points and VC?

You purchase skill points with VC.

Once you convert to skill points you cannot transition back to VC. The biggest difference would be that you cannot purchase skill points with money like you could with VC.

You also cannot buy anything in the store without VC. So like no arm sleeves or other stuff like that. You also can't earn skill points for your character outside of my career.

off topic but same game: any of y'all finish a career? i played pretty much all the games my first 2-3 yrs to build VC but now i'm like in year 9 and i'm only playing key games and i just feel like its dragging. my player is only 29 though

i'm ovr 99 for a while now. i've already clinched HOF. have 4 titles with 3 different teams. 3 MVP and 4 finals mvp. i really wanted to play at least another 4-5 seasons but i've hit the wall.
just seeing if anything cool happens at the end of your career. i may pick it back up when i get tired of ncaa/madden but probably by that time 2k14 will be out.
i wish you kept getting billboards and could switch shoe companies. it seems like after year 2 or 3 all that stuff dies down.
