$1 per $100k - Really!

100 dollars per 100k, but yeah, still super cheap, and the discount is huge, but my wife is a director at a large brokerage so they do get the hookup.

For 300k/500k/300k we pay 130/mo on 2010 Traverse and 2012 Crosstour.

What you guys pay in insurance down there is criminal.

My liberty mutual insurance was the best price when I got it 3 years ago but they have been going up and up and up every year. In three years it has gone up 500 dollars. My first year it was 996 now its a tad over 1500.

Yes, I called her on it after receiving the notice. "Oh let me check into that." WTF! I expected more, a preemptive warning at least. An explanation for sure. That was yesterday. I am disappointed in the agent. Not looking out for me at all.

Your agent is a complete jerk. She should have given you 90 days warning of a possible rate increase with a gift certificate to Apple Bees. She then should have followed up with the President of Safeco with a letter of appeal followed by some nude photos of herself to help out the situation. She absolutely should have known what your renewal would be by hacking into safeco's computer system and gain access before its generated and mail you the renewal herself rather than receiving it just like you do from safeco directly. You should totally put every blame on the shoulders of the agent. After all, she should have forecasted what company would have the best rates today for your renewal 4 years ago when she first wrote the policy. To hell with then, what about now. In lieu of just being reasonable and ask her to shop your policy as well as make a few phone calls, lets get rowdy up in this bitch and tell her you're a money talk baller.

definitely and make sure you bitch and moan so hard when coverages aren't as good and your quality of service possibly sucks. You should always expect the bestest best from the shittiest of companies. And the company with the lowest premium... expect the biggest increase the next year. And then every year you can hop and jump around and always be moving your shite.

I am looking for an agent who will look out for my interests. The 57% increase was the straw that broke the camel's back. I sat on the increase notice for ten days before calling my agent. I was mistakenly thinking they would be aware of this size increase and would be on top of it. I am not wanting to jump online and shop the cheapest thin line coverage available.

ask agent to shop it, call for a few other quotes from some other independent agencies. stop taking it so personal.

Not taking it personal. Just thought I might get a lead here or maybe insight into the market that I was missing. I have found another agent, but thanks for your help.

a. Do you have time to get other quotes?

B. did you ask for other quotes?

C. Are you aware your agent might have just gotten the same renewal info in the mail that you did?

D. Ask another independent for quotes, however most in your area probably use the same companies.

If you're still unhappy after answering and completing the above, then come to the board and complain.

Eta: wishful thinking

Yes, and I have and they are still coming in.

B. did you ask for other quotes?
Yes, and my original agent is "Looking into that"

C. Are you aware your agent might have just gotten the same renewal info in the mail that you did?
Yes, and I sat on the original notice for over a week before calling my agent thinking she was already on top of it. Wrong!

Yes, I've already gotten a couple quotes, one quote for half the price of the new sticker shock quote. New quote is from Liberty Mutual - parent of Safeco (I think), my current sticker shock co.

I've owned lots of properties in multiple states and bought lots of insurance. This whole deal just rubbed me wrong. Had to vent. And so here we are.
