What do you think happened to Michael Clayton?

He started out his NFL career on a tear w/ 80 catches, 1193 yds, and 7 touchdowns his rookie year and then he fell off the map. Was it his injuries? lack of drive? or inconsistent QB play in Tampa that led to his demise?

ALways wondered this. Only thing I can think of is lack of drive. The inconsistent QB play would have hurt him for several years. However, if he was talented enough/worked hard enough, another NFL team better QB play would have loved to have him as their #2

Heard he partied and was an alcoholic- which was his main problem.

Troubles with alcoholism which led to poor conditioning and weight gain.

I sat in a suite with him in Tiger Stadium in 2008 at the UGA game (awful game) and he cleared an entire bottle of Grey Goose by halftime and also was obviously paying for about 10 guys in his entourage to do the same.

Didn't even seem that intoxicated TBH. Really nice guy too.
