They just won 23 straight before losing this past weekend.

Im aware of that, they do that pretty much every year in sunbelt play but they haven't looked like they have in years past.

I think the team that has a #2 pitcher pitch good,or the team that has a #1 that can pitch lots of quality innings takes this.It will be hard for any team to come out of the losers bracket IMO.

Don't follow Softball very closely but wouldn't surprise me at all if the Cajuns win this Regional. From my perspective, everything hinges on Fico for the Tigers and she's been inconsistent. The home field is negated for this game. The OP was right in the Cajun fans showing up in droves for this one, however wrong on the viewing of this as their "National Championship". Has LSU ever beat UL-L in Softball?

Plenty of times. Beat them in 2001 to win the regional and go to the CWS. Beat them in a regional in 2006ish to go to supers...

Seriously and objectively, I don't think we quite have the horses this year to win this regional, though we are certainly capable of doing so.

Here's to some good softball. Looking forward to it.

Thanks Grad...My apologies for the lack of Softball knowledge. I live in Lafayette and I do know Softball is taken very seriously at UL-L. An ex oil man named Lamson, pumped some serious money into the program (I think the field is "Lamson Park") Very nice from what I hear.

Jordan Wallace has beastly numbers. 331 strikeouts in 214 innings is an attention getter. ULL doesn't seem to have a #2 though...so it may be up to her to win the regional on her own.
