Deke is the reason I never listen.

Yep.....it's a shame because I grew up listening to Hap and Buddy D on WWL but I haven't listened to the station for sports in years . It's sad when die hard fans need to get their Saints info from stations other than the flagship station of the team.

Dear God: Please let Scott Fujita replace Deke Belavia's ignorant arse.

How that guy has a job as a radio broadcaster, I'll never know. I'm fine with Bobby Hebert, because he's a QB who happens to have a job providing color for a sports show. But Deke, an alleged professional broadcaster, sounds like he has a 3rd grade education (from a Tangipahoa Parish public school) and is rude to the guests
I agree. He is beyond rude, arrogant and acts like a "know it all." The sad part is that Kristian is becoming a "Deke-lite" with callers. He is becoming arrogant and rude. It must be something about WWL that brings out the meanness in these idiots who could do nothing else for a living. As far as I'm concerned, Deke, Kristian and Hokie could all leave and it would only improve the broadcasts. Bobby needs to learn how to ask a question and stop talking over guests or he could go as well. It is sad that this is what we have to endure for any sports radio in this city.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... NO!

I really don't have any problem with Bobby. I've spent enough time w/ Cajuns to know that their local vernacular is not necessarily indicative of intelligence level. When Bobby first started doing the pregame for the Saints, it was painful to listen to him read his "Keys to the Game" segment, but his oral reading has improved greatly over the years. I think he is truly knowledgeable about football, and that's why I listen to him. IMO, his crazy expressions and atypical speech pattern (for broadcast radio) are acceptable, and occasionally entertaining, because of who he is.

Deke, on the other hand, is a guy who should have professionally peaked in Hammond. Maybe. How he landed this gig at WWL is beyond conception. I could go on forever about his broadcast radio shortcomings, but the straw that breaks the camel's back is that he is SUCH A DICK!!!
