The song you linked to actually was on one of their 90s albums: You've Got to Believe in Something. Which is a really underrated album. It's a good pop album with some good bluesy numbers on it as well. Bout a Train has been in their songbook for over a decade.
I think it's a shame music pop culture took a turn towards dark, angry, and humorless. The late 90s were brutal - just way too many white angry boys in backwards baseball caps yelling about respect. While the Spin Doctors follow up to Pocket Full of Kryptonite is awful, You've Got to Believe in something is great, fun pop album. They also had decent late career album in Nice Talking to Me, which was also full of fun pop songs.
They are actually a really good pop band, once they ditched all of those ridiculous jam band pretentions. They fit in nicely on a playlist with Fountains of Wayne. The world doesn't have enough fun, good, pop bands.
