On the field?
We had several embarrassing football performances in the 1990's. However, by and large, they were expected. Most of our mortifying losses during that era were witnessed only by a smattering of Tiger Stadium die-hards and the occassional regional television audience. National broadcasts were rare. Our shame was private. We were like a grossly obese girl who spends her Friday nights eating cheeseburgers, watching syndicated Friends reruns, and dreaming of the day she will be kissed by Johnny Depp. Humiliating, but largely unobserved.
By contrast, 1/9/12 was a national spectacle of shame. Expectations ran high. The program was in search of history. Everything was on the line, and the whole world was watching. But we didn't even compete, nor make a single effective adjustment. In one fell swoop, we lost the undefeated season, lost the NC, diluted the value of our SEC championship, and allowed our arch-rival to seize the reigns of dynasty. We were like a beautiful prom queen who steps onto stage, only to inexplicable vomit, crap her dress, and then try to eat the resultant stream of feces.
There are many different forms of embarrassment.
You've got some kind of imagination. I actually enjoyed reading that.

Me too
Even though I don't agree with it
It's a vivid way to view the 90's

1/9/12 for sure
That was just sad. That team could of had one of the greatest seasons in history

1/9 didn't look so bad after last year's NC game. Bama shoved them to the ground like they were children, at least we just looked like uninterested adults being pushed around instead.

and watching kniles Davis gash us in 4th qrter vs ark in 2010 was tough.
JJ and tm7 was typical.
Not surprised.

The RANT is the biggest embarrassment to LSU. What a bunch of whining assholes that don't know shite.

Was embarrassed by the Carlos Groves incident in the 1991 SEC basketball tournament. Love me some Dale Brown...don't get me wrong..but DDale going out on the court to swing at Carlos Groves was an embarrassment. The Asswipe Groves deserved it, but still...a grown man can't be pulling that shite.
Dropping dead on 1/9/12. No one will ever admit what truly happened but it looked like LSU was afraid to play Bama a second time. I don't think LSU was up for another emotional all out war.
Having Curley Hallman as our coach.
Having Smoke Laval as our coach.

Well, Brown could never be accused of not recognizing talent, and going hard after it. The coaching skills was a trade-off for his recruiting.

What about suffering through Dale Brown's bad coaching when we had Shaq, CJ, and Roberts?
