awful song. Showcases the poor state of rap nowadays. Tupac or Biggie would take a steaming shite on that track. Then again, Honey Boo Boo is popular and makes money so nothing surprises me.

Maybe 2Pac but no way is Biggie better than 2Chainz.

That has to be the dumbest song I have ever heard. If you think that is music, you are out of your mind! Trash!

someone's jealous they ain't rich as frick

I was just going to ignore this comment, but I'll try to give it one more shot and explain where I'm coming from on this.

Firstly, I can tell you, I am not jealous that I "ain't rich as frick." No one even knows what that means. Does that mean being a millionaire, billionaire, what is it? You don't know and I don't know. But fans really think that's cool I guess, to parrot dumbed down lyrics that have no real meaning. Doesn't make sense to me, but hey, I don't understand why you'd like being compared to a crack fiend either. It seems to be some sort of masochistic-type relationship 2 Chainz has with his fans.

Now, with regard to jealousy itself, that's one thing that I am in complete agreeance with the rap community on. The consensus among rappers is that jealousy is a bad trait. I concur.

I've laid out my thoughts on this music with a fair amount of detail throughout this thread. So, if you wanted to play the role of my psychologist, you had some substance to work with. But you ignored that and came up with jealousy.

trillhog did a similar thing when he enlightened us on the reason for Bill Gates' trips to Africa. Both of you seem to have an amazing confidence in your abilities to probe the depths of another's psychology. It's actually ridiculously arrogant of you to try to explain away someone's psychological motivation, especially when they are being honest with you, and telling you the way they truly feel. Maybe you were projecting your own feelings of jealousy onto me? Maybe trillhog was projecting his own psychological motivation onto Gates because he just can't fathom why a billionaire would be interested in Africa. That might fit, because he did post this earlier in the thread:

quote:

like a rapper, business guy or whoever with money is gonna like poor people, that's the whole reason you work to get rich so you can enjoy the good life and have some separation.

As for you, Buddy Garrity, you should have already known how I feel about this music because you showed up with the first comments in this thread. At the time you seemed to understand full well where I was coming from:

quote:

this thread would be very interesting on the OT

I have no idea about your question, it has always confused me as well

This thread has seemed to somehow take the shape of - me being anti 2 Chainz, within the bubble of the rap/hip hop world. But that's false. I'm not arguing whether or not 2 Chainz is the GOAT, or anything with regard to his status in the hotly debated hierarchy of rappers.

I am coming from outside that bubble of the rap/hip hop world, and was trying to have a discussion about the lyrics in rap & hip hop music from a variety of angles. Somehow you seemed to understand that in the other thread, but have missed it in this one.
