re: Anthony Davis finishes 2nd in ROY voting; Lillard finishes 1stPosted by fightingtiger2335 on 5/1/13 at 6:20 pm to tgr4ever
No complaints. Davis finishing 2nd was good considering injuries and hawnets being careful with minutes

agreed. davis will be better long term, so it doesn't even matter

sadly, someone will bite on this.
but i'll say this...developing davis at the right pace is a far better decision in the long run than throwing him out there for 38 minutes a game when he's 19, injured, and played a shite ton of basketball over the past year and a half (Kentucky all the way to the ship, Summer League, Olympics, and a full NBA season since November of 2011)

Yep. As much as I wanted him out there more, he wasnt ready to handle big minutes night to night

This is silly. In a calendar year, Davis played about 45 games at UK and Olympics. He played about the same amount from the New Year on. Rookies wear down because of the grind of an NBA season, not because they played too much in college or in the summer.
Davis was always going to need protection during his rookie year, regardless of how much or how little he played prior to the NBA season
you said something that i disagreed with. i explained why i thought so. nothing malicious in it from my end.
if you care to point out which game in his UK season (that ended in April 2012) or which of his 45 minutes in the Olympics put too much wear and tear on Davis for his rookie year, I'm all ears.
