If I was going to be a hermit in LA where would i live

When I was in college I worked for a group home that had older teenagers taken by the state who were severely conduct disordered. We got this one kid in who had never gone to school. He was the product of an old half blind and deaf schizo biker and a road whore who was just as schizo and deaf as he was that lived on an island in the atchafalaya. He was pretty much feral. They just stayed out there by themselves living off the swamp. He sounded like he was deaf the way he talked because that was all he'd ever heard. And he was completely fricked in the head from having his only human interactions be a pair of schizophrenics. Didn't like clothes or shoes. Was sexually abused by both of them so he had some really strange proclivities there. Just a completely wrecked life.

Would love to know what became of that kid.
