Would any of you drop him for Chris Carter, Everth Cabrera, Jean Segura, De Aza, and Span? I know I should have some patience, but I've got some injuries and my offense is struggling BIG TIME. I could use the speed or power, and I'm not sold on Moustakas turning it around. I took him late in our draft because he kept falling and I thought I got good value. Anyone think he is worth waiting on?

I'm usually pretty good at preaching patience. I'm just not sure the guy will be as good as people think. I already have Beltre at third, so I'm rolling Mouse out at Util and he's killing my avg.

He hit 20 HR as a 23 year old. Don't give up the upside for a one-trick pony or De Aza

He and Hosmer are the most overrated young fantasy players every year.

Honestly I would try to unload him on the first person who will give you a decent return. I made the mistake of trading for him 2 days after the draft and he has been painful to watch to say the least. I upgraded pitching by trading Gallardo for Latos but then I thought I was the smartest man on Earth because I had read about Moustakas' improvements through spring etc. and have up Beltran for him.

Also I agree that Hosmer and MM are the most over hyped prospects in all of baseball right now. They are not terrible by any means but they sure as hell aren't worthy of the hype they always seem to receive.

BB rate is significantly up & K rate and BABIP are significantly lower than career averages. It will normalize.

I'd be buying low on Moose if anything, not selling.

He's shown more consistency hitting-wise at the major league level than Hosmer. Pretty unfair to lump the two together; it's not like Moustakas was going all that high in drafts either.

This is the risk you run when you draft young players. They are high risk players; it astounds me when people surprise when they don't light the world on fire before turning 25.

More crazy...

People hyping a guy who hit 19/78 as a 21 year old 1B

People hyping a guy who hit 20/73 last year as a 23 year old

People writing them off after 10 games out of 162

But Hosmer has struggled for over a year now. Not just 10 games

Struggled in the eyes of people who expected him to be Pujols at age 22. Hosmer is still young as hell and was rushed up to play on a shitty team. Last year or this year should've been his rookie year.

For every Pujols or Prince (burst on the scene young) there are Votto, Butler, Chris Davis, etc who take longer to break out

Anyways, I wouldn't touch young, unproven guys in draft leagues anyway. Keeper leagues are different and you gotta stick out guys like Hosmer and Mous if you want to reap the benefits down the road

I think he's one of those better in IRL than fantasy guys.
