Besides, even if Mett isn't running it, Jennings could.

Now you've done it.

Believe me - if LSU is running the triple option you can bet the house Mett won't be on the field. Only thing he might do (if he is on the field) is move from center to other side away from option. He is too slow for the college game to run. This could be LSU's way to the end zone more often in 2013. That would be nice.....

Copeland as the dive man would be sick.

As one of my old coaches said, "no one dabbles with the triple option." It's pretty hard to run successfully if it's not your whole offense

This. We have no business running the triple option. It's not something you just pick up on a whim, you have to be committed to it and have a QB who can make the right read. And obviously mobility helps. I can't see us using this, it makes no sense.

All 3 of those teams run the Triple option out of the gun with a lot of success.

Mett was running it, but like i said they were handung to the fb every time. And they were runnung it out of the pistol. Hand off to copeland let him get a few. When the d pinches in give to hill.

I see. That's more the spread option, but it does share some characteristics with the triple option. I'm tracking what you're saying now.

The only difference between the Triple option from under center and in the gun is who the QB reads. In the gun the read is the backside DE just like Zone read. The first read under center is the 1, 2 or 3 technique of the DT.
