At NFP, Draftmetrics has been doing a series on all kinds of draft analysis. This one was kinda interesting and surprising looking at the past ten years:
First the % of players drafted from Automatic Bowl Championship SeriesQualifying conferences-
The Saints are noted for the amount of small school gems they have plucked. Looks like it's not that they do so many, they just have a high success rate with those that they do pick.
Next is which teams draft the most and least from each conference-
-dirty birds by far the biggest SEC drafting team.
-Saints high on Big 10 & Pac 12 players.
-Saints on low end of Big 12 & other BCS schools

Yeah, now I clearly see the issue, too many Big-10 players

Great find. Jags fans would get so pissed every year after the draft when I lived there. They truly do have a fascination with small school players.

And it shows.
I haven't done the research but it feels like the Big 10 always gets hyped, and the players are the beneficiaries, and their "All World" players are mostly bust in the NFL.
The Pac 12 isn't any different.

Meh I don'tknow about that, plenty of good players from all conferences. Anyone who doesn't feel the SEC players get hyped isn't really being honest.

I think most of the Pac 12 players are probably USC and Oregon players. There have been studs and busts on both sides of that equation.
