Consider the source. 247 is run by Gumps. All bama players rank higher on this site, such as the cb from ga who jumped 100 spots to the top 50 ovr after committing a few weeks ago. Just look at the 247 ranking compared to the composite ranking of their class last year. Almost all their commits composite was lower and sometimes significantly. While 8 of "their" top 10 are considering bama, my bama friend said they only feel great about malon Humphrey at this point. In the same breath they should mention 15-20 of their top 30 are considering Lsu. Finally, having the highest point total on a site in its 3rd year, where no one understanand the formula and is run by Gumps means jack shite.

247 content is top notch especially from s&s but I still like the rankings on scout the best. They consider a full class of 25 and this makes the most sense and gives the roster a true potential ranking with attrition, etc..247 and rivals only rank the top 20 and give entirely too much stock to the top players. This gives teams like ole miss, who had a top heavy class, a undeserved ranking.
