From an objective point of view this goes back to putting the best product out for the fans, which Pop chose not to. You can argue that teams rest players at the end of the season but that usually happens when a playoff spot is locked up so fans know they still have the opportunity to see the best product in the playoffs where games are more important. The best interests of the players were in mind but at this point regular season games matter to get into the playoffs, the game wont come back to haunt them but I still see both sides to the argument.
Spurs fans don't know this in November?

What about FA Cup and Capital One Cup matches where the manager plays the youngsters against lower division clubs? It is just part of the game nowadays since leagues play so many games each year.

Absolute bullshite. The coaches should make the calls in who rests and who plays, not the NBA

This seems wrong on so many levels.

Let the coach do what he deems is best for his team.

I think Eric Gordon should be fined $25,000 per game that he is "injured" because he isn't on the court putting the best product for the NBA.

Fine the NBA $25K for every game they sit a player like Anthony Davis with a concussion when he is telling everyone he'll be just fine on the court.

Right, because he would totally know if he was ok.

More like fine the Hornets for having Chris Kaman stay at home so he didn't help them win games.

Maybe the NBA should just send daily emails to all teams, making up their lineups for them...

The Heat sat Lebron James and Dwayne Wade Sunday, against the Spurs in San Antonio. Where's their $250,000 fine?

Add Mario Chalmers to that.

Because the same two teams played, with the Heat now doing exactly what the Spurs did.

Because Stern clearly wants the Heat to win the championship again.

Don't you see it? The Heat run the league.

So should the Spurs be fined another 250K for losing to Chris Bosh and the not-so-super friends?

In completely different situations. Context matters.
