Killing Them Softly

just saw this yesterday and I was really excited to see it
I was surprised at how much dialogue this movie has. It was not what I expected.
Not as much of a "thriller" as I thought it would be. I did enjoy it, but I felt a little cheated. Gandolfini has like 2 scenes, but it seems like it takes up 1/4 of the movie with his dialogue.
6/10 imo

Saw it last week. I was mildly disappointed. And I hated the ending.

+1
Saw it tonight. The acting was fantastic, but the movie wasn't cohesive. It was like a bunch of vignettes stapled together.
And the story takes place over a couple of days, not what I was expecting.

Gandolfini just pissed me off and really didn't serve a purpose.
and, I suppose it was deliberate, but I didnt root for any of the characters to live. I just wanted Brad Pitt to put a bullet in each person's head. I felt like had they made the targets a little more likable, that it would present the audience with a bit of a moral dilemma, but noooo. I wanted everyone fricking whacked

Looks terrible. Have zero interest in watching this. Ever

It wasn't terrible at all but a bit disjointed.
SPOILERS
The first 1/3 is really entertaining. Lots of humor but not goofy. Then Pitt shows up and in the second 1/3 most of the humor yields to Gandolfini's sad sack life stories which drag. The movie hits a lull. theres a lot of dialogue there which paints Ganolfini as a loser alcoholic. We are told he goes to prison but we don't see it. After eating screen time he simply vanishes. The last 1/3 is more straightforward violence and Pitt being the cool guy who ties up lose ends and gives a forced spiel about capitalism and then the movie just ends with no satisfying conclusion.
To be fair the plot is so simple that there really isn't much room for a conclusion.

I went to see this yesterday, with not much knowledge of what it was about... i was pleasantly surprised, i really enjoyed it... I enjoyed the dialogue and a lot of the effects he used shooting it...
I would agree the political angle was a little heavy handed but didnt detract from my enjoyment...
Damn, Johnny Sac has put on some weight, too...

just saw this off Redbox. Solid flick, not great. Good cast. Worth a watch if you enjoy crime movies.
