What's the best sign on bonus for a CC you've ever seen?

Just curious. I've only done 1 for $400. Anyone ever get north of $500?
I remember the Amazon Card I got a couple years ago because it was $40 in amazon gift cards.
Thinking about pulling the trigger on the NFL extra points card but afraid to apply since I just bought a house and added two cc's (chase sapphire preferred and pen fed gas card)

If you already bought a house and aren't thinking about taking on any more debt in the short term, why do you care how your credit score gets affected by getting a new card?
