Made a short trip this morning. 3 reds. 3 trout. Reds are now cruising the duck ponds. The trout weren't in the winter areas we had been fishing so I imagine they are down in the larger bays and lakes.

What y'all got the reds on? I went last week and only managed one keeper. Windy.

Gulp 3" cigar minnows blue top white bottom. All caught in the first 20 minutes of fishing including one 28"+ I couldn't get them to bite last week either but today was my first time using the gulp cigar minnows but I think the water temps are making them more aggressive more than anything.

10-4.

What's worse (if you finish with three fish either way): starting the day hot or finishing hot?

I think finishing hot because at least your hopes were tempered. Starting hot = pissed off the rest of the day!

Not how you start the race, it's how you finish. Just depends, if I'm looking at fish and can't make them bite I chain smoke, drink, cuss and break shite. If later on I figure it out and make them eat like Ethiopians at a buffet, I smoke, drink, my cussing goes to mostly Frick yeahs.

I'd rather leave em biting then them shutting off mid trip.

I didn't have a good trip last weekend, 1 Sheephead and 10 million Gnats! but it was still better than being at work and did get a few things done at the camp.
