thinking of getting bioshock

I got a buy 2 get 1 free at gamestop, trying to change up my types of games, you can only play so many modern fps.
If I get bioshock 1 do I need to play 2 to understand tge new one?
Think I may get the uncharted dual pack too. Suggestions on the third us3d game?
No cod style games please

Bioshock 1 is the better game play, there is a story line through the three but it's not so important that you have to play both to play 3.
