Credit Report Question

I let a lender pull my credit for a home loan a few weeks ago and long story short she never called me to tell me I was approved (which I was) or the rates I was looking at. Never contacted me since I provided her my information. She would give my information to her mom which is a real estate agent and my mom's co worker. I didn't know she was a agent until recently. Finally she gave me the rates through her mom which seem high so I thought I would check out a couple other places, one being a former coworker. Today I contacted her to get my credit report because my friend say he could give me a good estimate on rates by seeing it (eventually he would have to pull it if I approved of everything) and she said she couldn't give it to me since I wasn't going through her with
the loan. How bad is will it hurt my credit if I let another lender pull it?

You don't want to rack up too many - you take a hit of a couple of points for every hard credit hit - it can hurt you if you're just over a line, so be careful.

This is why you deal with things like this on a professional basis and not on a daughter of mom's friends type of relationship.
Off soapbox.
Did you pay for the credit report? If you did then you should be able to get a copy. If you didn't you are SOL. I'm betting that she didn't pull a full report and just got FICO scores.

You can do all the hard pulls you want within a month and it won't hurt you. Credit agency's know what is going on.

I agree with you 100%. I blame myself for taking the advice blindly and going through her but I thought since I was the one calling her and giving my information she would have the courtesy to return my calls. Only when I wasn't getting responses (I didn't find out I was approved for two weeks when she said she would know later that day.) did I ask my mom to find out what was going on. Lesson learned I guess. No I didn't pay for it so I guess I don't have a leg to stand on.

I think you should talk to a banker expert before you do something else. This way you don't get hurt any way, but you get more clarified answers to your questions.

If you are going outside official channels she could get in trouble if she were to give you the score, I don't blame her one bit.
But it won't hurt your credit to have multiple pulls in a short period, the formula takes "rate shopping" into account. Even if it's been a while one extra pull isn't a big deal unless you are *just* on the border. In that unlikely event you might want to plead your case with a lending officer, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Pull your own for free from annualcreditreport.com and bring it to him. You can also buy an Equifax FICO score from MyFico.com. He should be able to get you in the ballpark from there. When he does a hard pull, it will probably drop your score 5 points or so.
