Best software for creating an animated GIF from video?

question for you Fark Board GIF experts

The ones most of us use are Photoshop 7-CS6 as I believe all are capable of importing video frames to layers (which is what you do to create a .gif image).

Another guy on here (Dawg or BBV forget which) uses GIMP.
