puts New Orleans about $4.4 million over while only $2.5 million over.
Damn, that made my eyes cross trying to figure that out. Better go get my calculator.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ, does Loomis watch the same games as everyone else?

That $4.4m
Is what we would be over without the cap increase

Is what we are now over because of it
This is giving me pretty big hope that we might be bigger players in FA than we thought. Were only 2 mil over and we havent even touched Vilma, Smith or Harpers contracts yet.

We won't be big players, IMO. We'll give Bushrod a good deal and he will dent us. I think Saints are just going to go with a lot of youth on defense in both FA/draft and hope to hit the jackpot. Gotta sacrifice somewhere with all that money tied up on offense.
I would be a fan of the Saints trading back and getting as many picks as possible. We don't seem to draft well early anyway.

I think this is a pretty big misconception. Besides Brees as Evans, no one in our offense really has a big deal.

the new england method, keep the offense potent. get tons of young players on defense.
haha =(
haha =(
Bunkley restructure freed up $2.2m. I figure that puts them just under the cap ceiling (and WWL says that we are right around it), but Yasinskas and Clayton both figure we're still about $3m over. Wish he would do a breakdown of how he got there.
