Has anyone seen these movies? My son is in martial arts and he loves all things martial arts. I saw this movie at walmart and I was wondering how it was. Too violent/bloody for a 9 year old, etc?

A guy at work said it was a good movie. Just curious if any of you have seen or heard of it.

IP Man is awesome.
IP Man II is good.

I don't think either is too violent/bloody.

Not bloody or violent at all would be good movies for your son.

They are on Netflix if you have that

IP Man is awesome, I don't recall any real gore. Nothing more than your average bloody nose or cut lip. The movie is about a master martial artist, so there is obviously some degree of violence, but nothing excessive.

The movies have subtitles. I'm not sure if there was an English audio track added. Not sure if that's a big deal for your son or not.

As others have said, they're both good movies. Basically the story of guy who trained Bruce Lee.

IP Man II is Rocky IV with Chinese people.

I wasn't a fan of Ip Man II

Great Thanks! Only reason I asked about the violence/bloody is because IP Man 2 is rated R for violence (didn't see the rating on IP Man). It's a martial arts movie - of course it will have violence. But Rated R made me second guess myself.

Actually, Rocky IV is probably my second favorite of the Rocky movies. I don't know why, I just didn't really care for a Chinese remake of it.

There's one bad scene where a guy gets shot in the head which is also the best scence cause IP comes in and handles business.. I would guess thats where the rating comes from cause there's nothing else in the movie that bad
