have you checked the cords that plug into the back of the unit?
this was happening to me and i was looking at all these things and then i realized that the power cords weren't completely plugged into the back of the units

Yeah, I've taken them out and put back in several times. Has no effect.

do they work with the batteries on and not the motor on?

I have the same problem with my Garmin GPS. I have yet to solve the problem but, the Garmin tech said I neeed to have at least 11 volts to my GPS and anything less will cause it to shut down. I used a vlot meter and I am getting 11.5 volts to it with nothing running. I have other issues so I am sending it back getting a replacement.

My next plan is to pull every wire I can find and just redo every single connection. May replace acc switch if I can find one.

Had this problem on one of mine. Ended up being one wire that got exposed when we were installing new transducer. Took months of pulling our hair out to find it.
