Morten Wieghorst, a good man on and off the pitch
quote:

SWANSEA City are poised to unveil Michael Laudrup's former Danish international team-mate Morten Wieghorst as their assistant manager.

Wieghorst, who played for Celtic and then under Laudrup at Brondby during his playing career, is currently in charge of Denmark's Under-21 side and will begin work at the Liberty immediately.

The 41-year-old's appointment is set to be formally announced tomorrow, and he will work alongside Erik Larsen and first team coach Alan Curtis.

Wieghorst is a highly-rated manager in his homeland, and the Danish Football Association (DBU) are understood to have identified Wieghorst as the man to succeed Morten Olsen as manager of the senior Danish side in 2014.

Proof of Wieghorst's character

Plenty of room on the wagon. Get on board.

But in all seriousness hires like this just point to the club headed in the right direction. Awesome video. Had never heard of that before.

I've really started to like Swansea recently. I like their board, I like their manager, I like their fans, they've got a former Celtic player who features regularly, and I like the ethos of the club. I'm not ready to switch EPL allegiances just yet, but they're working on it.

Oh, and on Wieghorst, his accent is hilarious.

Who is your EPL club? I normally only see you talking Celtic.

And Ki has been up and down for me so far. Thought he would have a little more of an impact than he has.

I'm officially a Chelsea fan, though they are the club that I'm least attached to. I picked Chelsea because I wanted a London team that none of my friends followed.

He was like that at Celtic as well. Some brilliant performances mixed with some completely pedestrian performances.
