They were about 10 yards and 8 seconds from beating the eventual national champs, in most part due to their defense. Murray was a turnover machine and they refused to run the ball to keep them off the field.
If you're honestly championing Rob Ryan over Grantham you're insane.

I'm not campaigning Rob Ryan over Grantham.........but Rob Ryan is like Picaso and Grantham is a 5th grader with color pencils when it comes to Defense.

10 yards and 8 seconds in most part because of their D........... Don't know what game you watched.

That dude SUCKS BALLS......and if he his Defensive coordinator for the Saints may God have mercy on Drew Brees because he will have to score 35 pts a game to win.

Sounds like the UGA defense kicked arse and the offense couldn't do anything with the extra possessions.

Did you watch the game?

Anybody who is campaigning for a college DC with a shady history of success has gonna crazy loco.

I was begging Philly to hire his arse because he would have been guaranteed to be Chip Kelly's downfall.

Granthams last stent in pros as a coordinator before being fired:

He was fired on January 11, 2008 after the 2007 season with the Brown's defense ranking 25th against the pass, 27th against the run, and 30th in total-yards-against among 32 teams.

Rob Ryan:

2004 Oak D Coordinator:
30th overall
30th passing yards per game
22nd rushing yards per game
31st points allowed per game

2005 Oak D:
27th total D
18th passing
25th rushing
25th points allowed

2006: Oak D:
3rd total D
1st Passing
25th rushing
18th points allowed

2007:
22nd overall
8th passing
31st rushing
26th points allowed

2008 Oak D:
27th overall
10th passing
31st rushing
24th points allowed

2009 Cleveland D Coordinator:
31st overall
29th passing
28th rushing
22nd points allowed

2010:
22nd overall
18th passing
27th rushing
13th points allowed

2011 Dallas D Coordinator:
14th overall
23rd passing
7th rushing
17th points allowed

2012 Dallas D:
19th overall
19th passing
22nd rushing
24th points allowed

So if Todd is like a 5th grader with color pencils, then Rob must be a 6th graded with washable markers right?

DC - Keith Butler

Cut - Shanle, Vilma,

If a stud doesn't fall to us, trade back and pick up a 2nd round pick. Select OLB and either NT or LT(depending on Bushrods demands) with the first two picks

Not everyone can make chicken salad with chicken shite. Ryan went to Cleveland and had the 31st and 22nd overall defenses in 2009 and 2010. It's not like Cleveland is full of talent. That one year really isn't a fair judgement. Spags had a horrible year, but does that mean he's terrible?

As for the Bama game, you're discounting the entire season, because of one game against one of the best rushing attacks in the nation?

I'm not arguing for him, because I don't really know much about him, but your arguments against him are a bit hollow in my opinion.

That's a good point...and I won't be upset regardless of the hire.

But a dream DC? No.
