The first 30 minutes of the movie are very good and then the movie changes in a long AA drama.

This could have been a great movie, but no let's shoot the near same scene 5 times with the same point and add a red head for more drama.

Why not just focus on the crash and the events of the crash and the people that where there? Crash-a-drama-with deperssion is what I always wanted to see at the movie theater.

I give it 2 stars out of 4. Washington does a real good job with a bad script.

We knew....

BTW this does have the best crash in a movie of a jet.

I thought it was a great movie. Not best movie ever, but still very good.

Crash scene was intense as hell. Very well done.

I liked it. He's right that it shifts more into a drama. It doesn't make it a bad movie though, just a different movie.

The crash is just the setting and not the real focus of the movie.

I loved this movie. Thought it was really well done. The previews pretty much let you know that it will be about this guy's fight with alcohol and the accusations against him after crash landing the plane. I didn't realize going into it that he was going to be an alcoholic, maybe a hard partier who got behind the wheel when he shouldn't have and now he has to live with one mistake for the rest of his life, but I liked that he was spinning out of control the whole movie. The use of the plane crash was a pretty good metaphor for that.

Bumping an old thread because I just saw this.

Really dug it. Although, I was trying to figure out if Whip was a good pilot, or just got lucky. THen I figured if he landed the plane drunk as shite then he must be good.

Would everyone have lived had he been sober?

Goodman was awesome in this movie. Especially in the hotel room.

Probably his best movie since Lebowski even though he only has 5-10 mins of screen time.

Really good movie. Really good performances.

But it would've been better, more realistic, if Denzel had chosen to save his own arse at the end rather than confess his sins. We would've left the theater hating Denzel, but it would've been more true.

absolutely perfect body. I thought she was an escort in some European country during the scene. They don't make flight attendants like that anymore.
