Haven't NFL execs learned you don't give a QB a huge contract based upon less than a full seasons worth of performance? Has Aaron Brooks taught them nothing?

The question of a great QB is does his team make him better or does he make his team better???

Brady, Brees, Rodgers, and Manning are the only QB's in the league that make their team better....

And the talk of Flacco and Ryan deserving to be in the same money as Brady Brees and Manning is ridiculous.....if anyone deserves more money it's Rodgers....

Perhaps Hoge's point is QBs who are good game managers and can help talented teams win. In my opinion Flacco, Ryan are good QBs who can win games with great teams. But Bree's is on another level as being a QB who can win games against all odds, ie read defenses, make pinpoint throws, and the like without any 1st or 2nd round WR and TE weapons.

And I don't disagree with this. Do I think Matt Ryan / Joe Flacco are purely better QBs than Drew Brees? Probably not but that's also a ridiculous comparison. Drew is what - 34? Both those guys are 28 or 27. So Drew has had easily 6-7 more years in the league and 6-7 more years experience.

Regardless, my point was that Matt Ryan had a better overall year (just by QB comparison) than Drew. Was it light years ahead? No but he still had a better season.
It's not a knock on Drew - some of y'all are just overly sensative about Drew Brees.

He had a more efficient year than drew. Drew had a better year.

I don't think Ryan deserves to eeeeerver be compared to drew. Rivers is a more accurate comparison.

Can't open link right now but let me guess :

Brees not even top 10 Claiming a "reality, right now" style list, and yet having Big Ben in top 5, who was injured and his team missed playoffs? brilliant
