Windows Live Complications

What is the story with windows live? i see a lot of people on steam forums that say they can't play their games because of complications. Is it really that bad? If a game has it will it be easier to just play it from a disc instead of a download?

I've only played a few games that were tied into Windows Live and it wasn't a problem for me. Most people had separate windows live IDs or didn't have one at all, I had already created one and tied my GT to it.

No problems with windows live for me either, it a pain in the arse extra step but once it's set up it's fine.

Is it any different than playing through uplay or origin?

Pretty much the same.

So as usual people post their complaints on steam right away before troubleshooting their own problems.
