wow he was a 5 star....i thought he sucked in high school...i thought the only reason lsu was interested in him was because of his size...from the film and games i saw him play in he was def no 5 star

That list is stupid though. Some of those SEC schools don't get 5* like LSU/Florida. Naturally we'll have a higher bust % when we get more 5* consistently. I was impressed by Bama's bust ratio though. Only two? What does that say about Nick Saban and his staff? Amazing job developing and finding the elite talent. I guess that's why you're a modern NCAA dynasty.

Define 5 star. Define bust. Define dynasty (2 conference titles and 1 illegitimate rematch?). Dynasties cannot exist in a corrupt opinion polling system. Dynasties cannot exist without a true playoff where a real champion is crowned annually, not a polled champion. Save the fricking word dynasty.

Also, Xavier Carter is Sabans. That makes the score 3-3.

Perrilloux put LSU in a bad spot. Caused them to put their eggs in the basket of young kids that had no business being on the field.

Without Perrilloux we have one fewer SEC and one fewer BCS championships. Plus, he's in the NFL. Not a bust in spite of leaving us in a hole.

First of all this is not necessarily true because he did play does not mean no one else could have won that game. Second of all, that is 1 game, get got kicked off the team and never lived up to his billing, hence he is a bust. Lastly, that he made an NFL roster as an UDFA is not relevant.

Was Amp Hill a 5*? He would definitely be a bust.

Hill wasn't a bust...the kid completely destroyed his knee prior to the start of fall ball in 2003. All indications was that he was the leader of that freshman WR class that included Dwayne Bowe and Buster Davis.

That's the coaching staff's fault. Lots of QBs start as freshmen and redshirt freshmen. Our problem was the coaching staff poorly evaluated Lee and Jefferson.

Only replied to the OP so not to insult anyone, but the defense some of you have for some of these players is downright comical.

However unfortunately and untimely injuries and lapses in judgement are, a bust is still a bust. Unfortunate, yes. Doesn't change the fact that their time here was disappointing one way or the other.

With Flynn out who else did we have on the roster that would've beat UT? Hatch, Lee, and Jimmy Welker ain't getting it done.

What about Dubose from Florida? From class of 09. LSU wanted him I believe, but I only remember him really returning kicks for Florida.

Debose still has another year I believe, but man could you imagine if we had landed this kid? We would have had Davenport, Loston, Rueben, Shepard and Debose all being 5 stars and we would have never heard the end of how our coaches don't develop talent.
