Alesi's is the pizza I grew up on. When I think of pizza, even having been in Charlotte 29 years, I can taste Alesi's all meat pizza in my mind.
Similar experience. Some of my earliest memories were going into Alesi's with my family. In college my folks had an apartment near there, and Mr Alesi would greet us like family when we went in. My wife and I go there 50% of our trips to Lafayette and my 3 month old son will grow up on it as well.

They opened up right before I moved home after college..... I see on their menu they have black steamed mussels in a garlic sauce.... I dunno if the laffy location has that, but that alone makes me want to try

Yeah, that SOB is dry, you'll need a lot of beer to eat a few pieces of it ! I always said it was like eating browned ground meat on a saltine.

Alesi's, then probably Deano's. I'm not a Pizza Village fan at all.

I've never had Alesi's pizza, but I respect the fact that they seem to have a very loyal customer base. Most of the time it seems to be people who have grown up here. I've been in Lafayette since college, so although I've been here FOREVER, I didn't grow up with it and have only been to Alesi's twice. I need to go again.

If you went to Alesi's as a kid growing up in Lafayette, you'd go outside to watch through the window as the guys in the kitchen tossed the pizza dough in the air. It was a rite of passage. Alesi's will always be what I think of when someone says pizza. I still think their Italian sausage pizza is the best I've ever had.

Alesi's is the only real "pie" in Lafayette. If you don't have grease dripping down your chin it ain't legit. A real man eats the EVERYTHING with Anchovies!

This is a great place. Pizza is top notch however they only serve by pizza slice and the slices aren't that big. Definitely one of the better pizza places in lafayette
Agree with this. The setup is weird -No waiters. The pizza is excellent. I don't think the slices are small at all.
La Pizzeria and Antoni's are the two worst pizzas in Lafayette. Just terrible. I'd rather eat Papa John's than that shite.
Alesi's, Pizza Village, and Deano's and Pizza Venti's are all good.

Is that the Pizza Village copycat place? If it is, They got the salad right. It's just like Pizza Village. But the pizza? Meh. There's another Pizza Village copycat in Scott called "Pizza Palace". Their shirts even say "Why eat in the Village when you can eat at the Palace?". It's pretty good. They have that saltine cracker crust down right, but they must have a different supplier for the rest of the pizza I think.

I think JJ's is better than pizza village.

Yes it is. I think one of the cooks or owners left pizza village to start J.J.'s. I think pizza village is a lot better than J.J.'s

Ok..
1. Pizza village..would i drive across town for a pizza from some other place? NO..have many times for a Dupe or Landry special before the southside location opened.
then the rest...and i have tried the rest.
Deano's is WAY to greasy, subpar crust and service sucks at the original location.
Alesi? really? don't know how they are still in business. Have tried them over the years and their pizza still sucks. Everytime
guess thats what come from having a cultured palate and discerning tongue....lol
