Believe it or not 7 and 10 is a big difference with tvs. 60 sounds about right though.

To further clarify the usual recommended distance is between 1.5 and 3 times the size of the tv. I might would go with a 50 for your distance. I usually go to best buy and look at the sizes to try and judge.

From what you play, a Samsung LED is one of the top of the line TVs that are out there and would do fine. You can turn off things like the motion enhancer among other settings that will help limit the LEDs lag.

I'm guessing you will have a bluray player as well, which would alone make this TV worth it.
