44mag handi rifle optics

Thinking of getting a H&R handi rifle in 44mag. Will be good for my boys to use for the next couple of years. And I don't have a primitive weapon now.
What would be a good scope for it. Trying to stay under $250 for optics. Would a red dot work. Mostly be used for 100 yards and in. Or maybe just a good fixed power scope.

Have Flocky get you a Leupold VX II 3-9x. I have that on my Handi Rifle. It was 299 at Cabelas, so he oughta be able to save you some bucks.

Whatever Leupold you can get for that price.

I been needing to get up with him. Just to drink some beer if nothing else. But we work oppisite shifts so never run into each other.

No need to spend a bunch of $$$ on a scope for that gun's range. I have a cheapo 3-9x Simmons on my 45/70 and have been shooting deer out to 150 yds for years.
